Nana's Rainbow

Nana,
On the day that you went to Heaven, a rainbow so wondrous graced the skies above. The rainbow was most beautiful that we have ever seen. It reminded us that on this day that a new angel received her wings, it reminded us that it is in Heaven that many of your cherished loved ones have gone before you and will greet you at the side of God. Nana, we can't tell you how much we will miss you on this Earth, how much that we will miss your infectious Irish smile, the sound of your voice, and the love that you have given to my children. Without you, life will never be the same; your kids will miss you a little more with each passing day. However Nana there are so many blessings that will remain with us...your memory will never fade. I promise that I will remind Blaise and Aidan how much that you loved them...how much you were their best friend, how well that you took care of them, and how much that they loved to take care of you. I promise Nana that I will protect and love your Blaise and your Aidan, do not worry they are in the best hands. We know that the last few years were very hard for you Nana....and we know that it is with God that you will be joyous throughout eternity, be void of any pain, and will be there to greet us with open arms on the day that He calls us home.

In honor of Phyllis Ann Richard...an Irish blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

  1. Wow! That is beautifully written. What a precious tribute to Nana. Seriously touching. That picture of the rainbow is incredible! I know that she was so good to the kids, how incredibly sad.

  2. Sometimes I don't think of it as sad....I will miss her and havent gotten to really mourn her passing yet...(long story), but her life was SOOOOOOOO hard, too hard for an 8- year old woman...we may not get to see her, but she will be watching us from the best seat in the house!
