OSU Spring Game 2009

Only in the great blue skies of America can a family come together with 95,722 others for a day dedicated to the love of Buckeye football.

I grew up watching, cheering on, and crying for the best darn football team in the land.
In my house we carry on the tradition...now my children will know the sound of Carmen Ohio, Hey Louie, the buckeye battle cry among others.... all played by the grand Ohio State Marching Band
Something about being in Ohio Stadium brings excitement and awe, everytime I think that in two short years I will join the ranks of the alumni of such a prestegious university. I love to get the kids ready in OSU spirit every saturday during football season.....this time they got to experience the excitement first hand.
Alas we did have on unhappy PAC-10 fan in the stands....and yes he did belong with us

Thank you buckeyes for your hard work and dedication...and congratulations on setting a national spring game attendance record....Im so happy that we were are part of it!

Mommy and Blaise.....

Blaise had a stressful week...so my answer was to pick him up early from school and head to the movies. We went to see Monsters Vs. Aliens in 3D!!!! The best part was that we were the only people in the entire theater...so Blaise got to talk and laugh as loud as he wanted. Thank you buddy for a day of popcorn and fun! I love you...Mommy

Nana's Rainbow

Nana,
On the day that you went to Heaven, a rainbow so wondrous graced the skies above. The rainbow was most beautiful that we have ever seen. It reminded us that on this day that a new angel received her wings, it reminded us that it is in Heaven that many of your cherished loved ones have gone before you and will greet you at the side of God. Nana, we can't tell you how much we will miss you on this Earth, how much that we will miss your infectious Irish smile, the sound of your voice, and the love that you have given to my children. Without you, life will never be the same; your kids will miss you a little more with each passing day. However Nana there are so many blessings that will remain with us...your memory will never fade. I promise that I will remind Blaise and Aidan how much that you loved them...how much you were their best friend, how well that you took care of them, and how much that they loved to take care of you. I promise Nana that I will protect and love your Blaise and your Aidan, do not worry they are in the best hands. We know that the last few years were very hard for you Nana....and we know that it is with God that you will be joyous throughout eternity, be void of any pain, and will be there to greet us with open arms on the day that He calls us home.

In honor of Phyllis Ann Richard...an Irish blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

No Child left....inside

Our family accepted the challenge to leave no child left inside. Our goal this Summer and Fall is to visit all of the local parks, and some of the state parks that we haven't been to. This will help us to get healthier, enjoy nature, and help me in particular with my goal to lose twenty pounds (the last two years of school have put a hurting on my waistline..hehe.) We started our challenge by going to Highbanks Metro Park in Lewis Center. The weather was beautiful, so we had a picnic and took a three mile walk on the trails. Highbanks has an amazing nature center, and even has Adena Indian burial mounds within the park. We had a nice day and were thouroughly worn out by the end of our walk.

Peace

Afternoon peace....so tired after long days at work and at play! I still need to catch Blaise....

Easter Traditions 2009

Easter is such a wonderful holiday. We have many traditions, and our celebration began with the coloring of Easter eggs. This year it felt very rushed because I had to work the three nights before Easter Sunday....but I still love every minute. Blaise and Aidan both look forward to coloring their eggs, they really liked the crayon that the kit comes with to write on your eggs before you color them.

This year the kids had a mini Easter carrot hunt and looked at their baskets, we had to get ready and go to Great-Grandma Chisolm's house for a small family get-together. At this point I want to say that once again I could not pic my favorite pictures, I have to post them all!

Craftsman Activity Pin

Blaise made this birdhouse by himself at his Webelo Den meeting. It was quite enamored with the power tools that he got to use while doing it. Blaise even learned how to put the drill bits into the drill....I think that he wants a power drill for Christmas now!!! This activity was definately the coolest one that they have done this year.

My 30th Birthday....that I will never forget!

How lucky am I that I have a boyfriend and a family that loves me enough to let us get away for a 30th birthday celebration. Matt took me to a cabin in the Hocking Hills...which was serene, beautiful, and the perfect way to end my twenties. Our cabin was called Anniversary and was the perfect size for two. Please note that in the pictures of me are not that good....I forgot to bring a comb and conditioner....but Matt told me I was beautiful anyway!!!!

The Hocking Hills area is so beautiful...we went to two different scenic sights for some quiet time in nature. It is really really hard to choose which pictures that I wanted to include but I will try to pic just a few....first we went to Ash Cave, then we went to Conkel's Hollow. We are promising ourselves that we will go back in the Fall to walk the rim trail at Conkel's Hollow.

We ate soooo much amazing grilled food, watched movies, read, made up stupid songs, and spent a lot of time together. I will cap it off by saying it was one of the best birthdays ever......even though it was not one that I was looking forward to! Just a few more pics for fun...sorry:)
