Zoo Day with Aidan's Class

I was very lucky this year because both Blaise and Aidan's class trips to the zoo were on Friday's and I was able to attend them(Blaise's is next friday!) I love going on class trips, you get to know the kids better, and socialize with other parents. My friend Angela also came with her daughter and we combined our groups so that we could hang-out together...which was fun! My group consisted of Allie, Julia and Aidan. My favorite part about the zoo was seeing baby Beco for the first time.....Aidan's favorite animal was the tiger. Angela taught us all how to say our favorite animals in sign language, it is amazing how easily kids pick up on things. This trip was special because it was Aidan's first class trip...I am looking forward to another trip next week with Blaise's class!!!!!

An Interview with Blaise

Blaise was chosen this year to represent his class to participate in the Westerville Leadership Summit. The representatives went to two summit meetings throughout the year to learn how to better be a leader, then they came back to the school and worked with the principal to plan some community service projects for the whole school to participate in. Friday, Blaise went to the final meeting of the year. It is a great honor to be chosen for the summit and we are very proud of Blaise. He is a leader, not a boisterous one be a gentle leader who does what is right even though sometimes he is ridiculed by his classmates. This will be a quality that will help him tremendously as he grows into a wonderful man. Here is a little interview with Blaise....

How are you?

Fine....I had a good day.

How did you feel about being chosen for the leadership summit?

I felt great because there is only three years that you can be chosen to be in the leadership summit.

What was the most important thing thing that you learned there?

I learned how to be a leader, and work together really good with other people.

What was your fav part?

Getting to write pen-pal letters to senior citizens at the Village at Westerville.

What was your service project?

Pennies for Patients and Penpals

Which speaker did you like?

I liked them all, but my favorite was the leader of the good program.

What is the good program?

Something that you do that helps blind people, and make sure that you don't make fun of them because of their disability. The symbol for the good program is a lion that is blind, and their motto is when the going gets tough the tough gets going.

What do you want to teach other people?

I want to teach people to be a leader and to work well with others. A good leader doesn't always take all the credit, there are other people that deserve it to.

How has being a rep for your grade helped you this year?

It helped me to understand to be a leader and lots of other stuff.

Is there anything else that you want to say?

At the end of every summit they bring someone special out...the first time a puppeteer came and he was really good. The second time a magician came and he did lots of tricks.

Our Daytime Date

Yes I know we were supposed to be at work or school....but Matt had the day off and with just a little convincing I missed a class. What is one class right? Just don't tell my Mom...haha! Any how Matt and I went and had some greek food (which we really can't afford) and saw a movie at a cheap(for a reason) movie theater. We saw Star Trek...which had some cool special effects but was just as cheesy as the originals. However I loved every minute of being with Matt, and I would do it all over again another day. Thank you baby!

Mother's Day 2009

I love being pampered...this Mother's Day I was showered with many gifts from Matt and my kids. Aidan made me a beautiful jewelry box, and Blaise gave me coupons to use when I don't feel like doing the dishes or the laundry. These are the gifts that I will remember most as my children get older! We also had Sarah and Kailey over for a phenomenal dinner...prepared by Matt. He made a marinated pork loin on the grill that was absolutely perfect! The weather was nice, and the company was great! Here are a few of the gifts that we given to me by my kids!

Aidan...the story behind the teapot is that in our house we like to talk to each other in bad foreign accents...Aidan is good at the English accent and she is always asking us if we would like a spot of tea!!!! The second one is a book that Aidan had been working on forever....

Baseball time again.....

Bubby had his first scrimmage this weekend....he is so amazing! It has been several years since he last played and he is giving it all of his heart every time he goes out there....he doesn't understand all the rules but coaches and teammates are very very encouraging and understanding! Great job Blaise I can't tell you how proud I am to have you for a son!!!!

Generations PAC Dress Rehersal 2009

I can't believe that it is here already.....which means that the end of another school year is right around the corner. Aidan had her dress rehearsal this weekend, which was sooooo exciting for both of us. It was not too many years ago that I was engrossed in the excitement of my own dance recitals. The weekend began when I volunteered to help with hair and makeup which was very very fun! Aidan danced Jazz, Ballet, and Tap this year so we had three costume changes...i think that she felt like a superstar....she also loved seeing all of the big girls dancing. Here is a picture of Aidan and her friend from school Savannah... One thing that I thought was neat was that the recital is at the high school that I graduated from, Westerville South! So getting her ready in the same places that I have walked so many times in the past was emotional!

Where has the time gone.....

Here is a little reminder that our beautiful children do not stay little for long!!!!! I am enjoying every minute of there elementary years, but that does not stop me from wishing that time could reverse itself, wishing that I could do it all over again not necessarily to make it different, just to be able to keep them with me everyday for longer. So with Mother's Day quickly approaching I thought that I would reminisce a little and show some "younger" photos. They are just some old favorites that I picked from off the top of a stack, not of any certain ages! I am going to try to do this more often, obviously I did not start this until this year so I have a lot of time to make-up for!

Blaise Patrick

I think that Blaise has been one of the easiest children to raise. He never really had temper tantrums, he has always been helpful kind and loving. Everyone that meets him is enamoured with his sweet genuine personality. I recently asked him if there were any girls at school that he thought were pretty...and his response was well I think that you are pretty. Those comments are typical of Blaise, he is always wondering about the well-being of others.

These first two pictures were taken of Blaise when he was about five years old at King's Island, right before he started kindergarten. You can see the way he was studying something....trying to figure everything out.

This next picture was taken when he was taken when Blaise was eight...while we were on vacation in the Outer Banks.

As a single-Mom of a little boy I always wanted Blaise to play sports, however with my schedule and my inability to play baseball, football, or alot of those rough and tumble sports (if it would have been dance or cheerleading we would have been ok) he lacked the practice needed to excell at them. That does not mean that he would not give it his all...we are trying it again with Matt around to teach him all of the little things that I just don't know.

Aidan Tiffany

Aidan and I have very similar personalities, the biggest difference is that she is shy where I am loud and bossy. Aidan is currently the baby family...hopefully not forever though...hehe! There is much about her that is still very baby-like, for instance the girl still is such a messy eater that she will walk around at school all-day with pb&j stuck to her face, she constantly gets food in her hair. She is also social, and quite an artist. She is constantly writing, coloring and drawing pictures. I love having a little girl...there is so much that we can share, so much to look forward to in the future. Aidan was the fattest baby that I have ever seen....another time I will post more fat-baby pics of both of them.

Aidan was two in the picture above....yes I know that I was a bad Mom she still used her binky....but she was my baby, and she was such a good sleeper(and still is). This picture was taken on our trip to Disney World....boy she was not a happy camper most of the trip!!!! She HATED the Disney characters.......but that is another blog.

The fourth of July is one of my FAV holidays...again another blog! I love to dress the kids in red, white, and blue at all times of the year. Aidan was again two in the picture below.

I think that most of my favorite pictures come from our family vacations....the next one was taken of Aidan when she was three....at the Outer Banks! A few minutes after this pic was taken Aidan got a splinter so huge that we had to go to the hospital to get it out....a very expensive trip.

Another group of pictures were taken the year Aidan was four...again in the Outer Banks! This year was quite a year......it was one that we will never forget.

Isn't she just the most beautiful sight.....she takes my breath away.....this last pic was taken at her friend Ashley Vittorio's fourth birthday party. I couldn't resist a pic of those short piggies...

I love being their Mom...thank you to the good Lord above from giving me the loves of my heart.
